6.1 Approach for dealing with FSAs with branches

Minimum criteria for automation of branches has been defined as:

  • Have electricity
  •  Have more than 600 customers
  •  Make more than 50 transactions a day
  •  Have a strong manager (and all staff in place)

There are three potential types of FSAs:

1.      An FSA with no branches (standard deployment)

  • All computers installed in the main FSA
  • Power backup in the main FSA  

2.      An FSA with a branch that meets minimum criteria for automation

  • One computer installed in the branch
  • Power backup in the main FSA
  • Additional power backup in the branch
  • Each position trained in the main FSA
  • Every position trained in the branch  

3.      An FSA with a branch that does not meet minimum criteria

  • All computers installed in the main FSA
  • Power backup in the main FSA only
  • Each type of position trained in the main FSA
  • Only one person trained in the branch---that person will convert vouchers from manual to electronic in the main FSA
